Policy

Sorry, this etymology is corny, but tonight I heard a phrase on the news, delivered by a girl my age. I looked a little ', and said: "Politics is dead, because all parties in the end have to compromise."

This is my answer:
policy derives from polis, which meant "city." It is a word that comes from Greece, the cradle of democratic civilization. It is not a manner of speaking, because their democracy there had already five hundred years before the birth of Christ.
Giovanni Sartori has a better definition of political "the sphere of collective decision-making sovereignty." To be collective , sorry for this mass of angry, should be a compromise.
And if they stopped screaming for a few seconds, maybe, they could also participate.
